I signed up for dessert duty for Thanksgiving this year, so I went hard to work this weekend coming up with something yummy to bring. When I was younger, I was always the person at holiday dinners who didn't really care much for what was on the dinner menu and just waited (not so) patiently for dessert.
Once I changed to my healthier lifestyle 6+ years ago, I quickly discovered that I could make desserts that were still tasty but made with real natural ingredients. I've also thankfully learned along the way that the food before dessert time was just as exciting (yay for delicious turkey, sweet potatoes, veggies)!
So while I was planning for my dessert to make, I started thinking of my favorite holiday treats as a kid and immediately thought of those Ferrero Rocher chocolate hazelnut candies. Those used to be my absolute favorite and they always remind me of the holiday season. Well I was determined to make a paleo friendly, healthier version of that same flavor. Which lead to these Chocolate Hazelnut Cookie Bars. OBSESSED. These are perfect to bring to any holiday party you're having this year as I promise even your friends who don't eat super healthy will love them! Hope you enjoy.
